Cleveland Proposes New Contract for Employee Assistance Services

The City of Cleveland is moving toward securing professional support for its workforce through a new proposal to manage the City’s employee assistance program. Introduced on July 9, 2026, Emergency Ordinance 751-2026 would grant the Director of Human Resources the authority to hire one or more professional service providers to administer these programs. This initiative is designed to provide necessary training to various City departments on an as-needed basis to support municipal employees.

Under the terms of the proposed ordinance, the initial contract would last for one year. The Director of Human Resources would also have the option to renew the agreement for up to three additional one-year periods.
