New Framework for Loaned Artworks at City Hall
Cleveland City Hall may soon host new cultural exhibits thanks to a recently passed emergency ordinance, File No. 685-2026, which establishes a formal way for the city to display loaned artwork. This legislation allows the Department of Public Works to manage various types of property on loan, specifically aiming to promote public art and showcase local artists through community engagement.
According to the 685-2026-Legislative Summary-Loaned Property, the Director of Public Works is now authorized to enter into agreements with the United States of America, the State of Ohio, and various public and private entities. These agreements allow the city to accept and maintain property located at Cleveland City Hall, provided the terms and conditions are acceptable to the Director of Law.
