Cleveland Council Approves Emergency Funding for City Services

Cleveland City Council has passed an emergency ordinance to provide $491,427 in additional funding to the city’s General Fund, which serves as the primary way the city provides programs and services to residents Budget & Management | City of Cleveland Ohio. This supplemental funding, authorized under Ord. No. 656-2026, is intended to support various municipal operations and is funded by additional EMS revenues 656-2026-Legislative Summary for Supplemental Ordinance.

The appropriated funds are distributed across several key departments to cover specific personnel and operational needs. According to the 656-2026 2026 June Supplemental Ordinance, the Department of Finance will receive $315,000, including $50,000 for accounting services via a contract with Clark, Shaffer, Hackett and $265,000 for the Division of Risk Management to purchase various types of insurance 656-2026-Legislative Summary for Supplemental Ordinance.
