Cleveland Approves Citywide Contracts for Building Materials and Services

Cleveland City Council has passed an emergency ordinance to ensure various city divisions have continuous access to the essential materials and labor needed for building maintenance and construction. This measure, identified as Ord. No. 606-2026, authorizes the Director of Finance to enter into several written standard purchase and requirement contracts. These agreements are designed to provide citywide utilization of necessary resources, ranging from heavy-duty equipment and power tools to specialized services like landscaping and plumbing.

According to the 606-2026-Legislative Summary- Building Supplies and Materials, the contract covers a wide array of items including bricks, drywall, lumber, roofing, ready-mix concrete, and electronic supplies. It also includes hardware such as keys, locks, elevators, and escalators. The legislation establishes a one-year contract term with two optional one-year renewals exercisable by the Director of Finance. Current listed contractors for these requirements include Pennsylvania Steel Company, Inc., Contractors Choice Ready Mix, LLC, Erie Materials, Inc., Colony Hardware Corporation, The Sherwin Williams Company, Binkowsky-Dougherty Distribution, Inc., Lakeside Supply Co., Schindler Elevator Corporation, and ADMJ Holdings, LLC/Advance Door Company.
