Cleveland City Council Approves Liquor Permit Transfer for Carnegie Avenue

Cleveland City Council has moved to allow a liquor permit transfer for a business located at 1105 Carnegie Avenue. Through Emergency Resolution 579-2026, the Council has officially withdrawn its previous objection to the relocation of a D5 liquor permit to this address. This decision marks a change in direction for the city regarding the specific permit transfer for the site.

According to 579-2026-FOR ADOPTION- WITHDRAWAL-TFOL-1105 Carnegie Avenue-WARD 5 (1) 5.1.26 rev, the transfer involves D5 Liquor Permit No. 10009264, which is being moved to Suite 55, LLC at 1105 Carnegie Avenue. A D5 permit is generally issued to the owner or operator of a retail food establishment or food service operation, such as a restaurant or nightclub, allowing for the retail sale of beer and intoxicating liquor Section 4303.18 - Ohio Revised Code | Ohio Laws. By passing this new measure, the Council has repealed Resolution No. 1314-2025, which had originally been adopted on October 20, 2025, to object to the transfer.

The resolution has passed and was introduced by Council Member Starr.
