Nottingham Road Resurfacing Project Moves Forward

Cleveland City Council has passed an emergency ordinance to update the city's agreement with Cuyahoga County regarding the resurfacing of Nottingham Road, spanning from St. Clair Avenue to the southern corporation line. This update, designated as File No. 519-2026, ensures that the city and the county are aligned on how the road improvements will be managed and funded. The project is located within Ward 10, represented by Councilmember Hairston.

According to the 519-2026-Legislative Summary-Amend 1470-2025_Nottingham Amendment, the amendment reflects a revised agreement where Cuyahoga County will take responsibility for preparing construction plans, specifications, and engineering reports. The County will also oversee the administration and supervision of the construction contract. The total construction cost is estimated at $3 million. Funding for the project includes $2.4 million in federal NOACA STBG funds, $400,000 in state County CMAQ funds, and a $200,000 contribution from the City's 2027 Capital Improvement Program (CIP). The project is scheduled to begin the design phase in the winter of 2026, continuing through the spring of 2028, with construction expected to run from summer 2028 through summer 2029.
